Safety is shared
Before the first climb, read the posted rules and ask staff about anything unclear. The Funation Soft Play Area is described as a colourful kids’ zone; families should confirm current session and supervision rules directly.

Soft play safety works best when the venue maintains the equipment and parents actively supervise their children. Padded surfaces reduce some risks, but they do not remove the chance of collisions, falls or overexcitement.

Choose comfortable clothes without loose cords, sharp accessories or items that can catch. Remove jewellery and empty pockets. Many soft-play venues require socks, sometimes grip socks, so confirm the rule and bring a spare pair.
Tie back long hair and store shoes, phones and valuables outside the play structure. Glasses or medical devices may need an extra retention measure recommended by the child’s clinician.
Toddler zones exist because smaller children move differently from older, faster players. Encourage children to remain in the area intended for their age or size. Do not place a nervous toddler into a busy large structure merely because an older sibling is inside.
For younger guests, compare the separate Toddler Area and ask staff which zone is appropriate. Our soft play age guide explains how development, not only birthdays, should shape the choice.
Active supervision means watching the child, not only being present in the building. Keep a clear meeting point for older children and stay within reach of toddlers. Follow the venue’s adult-access rules rather than entering equipment that is not designed for adults.
Do not attend when a child is unwell, vomiting or has a contagious condition. Wash or sanitise hands before eating and after play. Cover cuts, and tell staff immediately about spills or soiled equipment.
Share relevant allergies, asthma, seizures or mobility needs with responsible adults. Keep prescribed rescue medication accessible and follow the child’s care plan.
Heat, thirst, flushed cheeks, irritability and repeated falls can signal fatigue. Offer water and short breaks. After any significant bump, follow the venue’s first-aid process and seek medical advice when symptoms warrant it.
